I bought this phone last week and although I can live with it, there are many things that just bug the heck out of me.

I’ll list here what I didn’t like:

*The screen is way too small, especially for a phone this bulky.
*The screen is VERY hard to see in sunlight.
*The 262,000 color screen, well, it’s not enough.
*camera is of poor quality (it’s VGA)
*The navigation is awkward and not very intuitive.

Customer Review: The phone is pretty fine.
I scowered the internet, Best Buy, Staples, Target, Office Max and WalMart for an aesthetically pleasing phone with no success until I found this Philips phone. It does not have an odd shape, multiple colors, a font from the 1920s, rubber textured buttons or a charging station the size of a coffee maker. I would, however, prefer to have the option to increase the handset volume.

Customer Review: great idea..but make sure to operate in absolute silence
My experience with these particular phones is that they are way too quiet. My brother-in-law bought the same ones. I decided to go with these because of the cool ring tones, answering maachine, and speaker phone feature. What a disappointment. I use it as an answering machine but rely on a two dollar wired phone from Goodwill if I need to converse.

Customer Review: Going downhill with the TRU9585
The TRU9585 appears to be a couple steps backward for Uniden.

1) The answering machine audio quality is horrible. The caller sounds like their head’s in a bucket. My last Uniden, the CLX485, had the best audio I’ve ever heard for an answering machine. I’m starting to really regret getting rid of it.

Customer Review: Short battery life!
I bought this phone sometime in October or November of 2007 because it was cool looking & I needed a new phone. I have had issues with the battery since January. The charge doesnt last more then 4.5 hours. Dont buy this phone unless you want to deal with replacing it or the batteries within 2 months!

A nice, convenient, compact phone. Caller ID. Shows missed calls and their number. Phone works great. Very long battery life between charges. Delivered on time, and unit works as promised.

Customer Review: Wish I had returned it when I had the chance!
I purchased this phone 4 months ago and within the first week the individualized ring feature for incoming calls quit working entirely. A seemingly minor glitch, but one I couldn’t remedy by returning it because my other phone had died completely. I too noticed a lot of static on the line and after a few weeks I found my talk time getting shorter and shorter, in spite of fully discharging the battery every time before recharging it. At this point it seems like every couple of days, when I try to answer an incoming call I get that annoying “beep” in my ear and then have literally about 30 seconds to finish my conversation before it dies. I’m not giving Vtech another chance after this dud.

Customer Review: 4th Phone for Series Expandable Phone Systems
The original expandable phone system consisted of three cordless phones, the base staton with answering machine, and two remote wireless units.
An additional unit was required and I ordered the
GE Cordless 5.8 GHz Digital 28001EE1 from Amazon. It arrived five days later, installed without a problem, and works flawlessly.
That says it all.

I hated this phone. The speaker phone has good audio but the ear speaker is terrible. Many times the voice is so garbled I can’t heear the other user. I am returning the phone today.

Returned first unit same day purchased, second unit better than first, however audio is ’scratchy’. GE non-responsive, replaced second unit with purchase from other manufacturer.

Very good headset. Have not had any interference issues and headsets are loud and clear. Headsets have lost connection with the base station a couple of times so they are not perfect but much better than my old Vtech garbage.

I purchased this phone for my parents who are in their 80’s. It was VERY easy to install and set-up, and not too difficult for those who are technically challenged to use. The sound is excellent. The answering machine worked well, and there were just enough choices in sound and ring tones to suit them. It takes up very little space and the phones are in sync which saves a lot of time. You don’t have to run back to the answering machine phone to see who called or retrieve messages.
