I bought this phone last week and although I can live with it, there are many things that just bug the heck out of me.

I’ll list here what I didn’t like:

*The screen is way too small, especially for a phone this bulky.
*The screen is VERY hard to see in sunlight.
*The 262,000 color screen, well, it’s not enough.
*camera is of poor quality (it’s VGA)
*The navigation is awkward and not very intuitive.

Cons: the construction material is strange at first, almost feels cheap, but its very light
- the joystick and the keypad are weird to use at first, but I got used to them, and now I don’t complain so much.
- no wireless internet
- software is not ultra fast, but that is going to happen in all smartphones/pdas in the market.

Pros:
- Amazing photo camera for a phone, easily compeats with lower end digital cameras.
- Works great with TomTom navigator 6
- AMAZING batery life.
- Great audio quality in music (MP3, radio and other formats)
- great screen

I am a die hard nokia fan. When this phone was released, I was one of the first to purchase it. It looks like a great phone, and the functionality is amazing. Very well made.. HOWEVER.. within two weeks of buying this, the silver paint started chipping off to reveal white underneath. Let’s be honest.. You spend $450 on a phone.. it’s paint shouldn’t be chipping!!! For that reason alone, I DO NOT recommend this phone. Boo nokia.. you disappointed me.

Customer Review: well built but terrible interface and ergonomics
The Philips DETC phone has great sound quality but a terrible display that is difficult to read in sunlight and use as a phone. The controls are not logical and difficult to understand (press the arrow key down to see the last person who called, then up twice to see the previous callers). The biggest disappointment however is the speaker phone option in which the speaker and microphone are so directional you have to keep passing the phone between you if there’s two of you and you’re trying to speak to your family on the other end of the phone.
Customer Review: Stop working in a few weeks
I have this a gift to a friend in Atlanta. She just called me to tell me that it has stopped working over the 4-th of July weekend. It would have been nice if it had lasted a few months instead. I will have to find out how to get it repaired or replaced this week.

Customer Review: Unhappy with it
The buttons stick and make it hard to dial, the volume want go up loud enough to hear others on the other end unless you have everything in the house off and have complete silence even on the highest setting. If it didn’t cost so much to ship it back I would return it and get a refund.

This cell phone case has served me well for close to 4 years and I believe it would last another 4. I recently had to replace the phone and the new standard leather case brought back memories of why I bought this Body Glove case; other cases simply do not stay in place on the phones. Customer Review: The best cover for Samsung 3500
I tried other covers in leather in 2 different designs. They just didn’t work well. The type that covers the flip (earpiece)does not allow the phone to close properly causing BIG problems with battery drain. And the leather covers are so thin. This Body Glove case fits so well and looks very sporty. The neoprene gives the phone more protective padding. The clear plastic that covers the keypad and display area has remained very pliable with no cracking or discoloration (I’ve had it 7 months). And when using the keypad, I can’t even tell it’s covered. The belt clip is a little bulky, but I rarely use it so it is not an issue for me. It also costs more than most cases, but the cost is well worth it.

I am still not sure if the battery I received was new. It said that it was new, but it came in a plastic bag and not vendor packaging. The battery does not hold a charge like a new battery. It runs down even when I don’t use the phone.

Customer Review: Outstanding
Battery lasts approx. four to five days with moderate talk time. Terrific price and quality. One caveat, battery would not lock into position in my phone causing disconnects. A simple fix remedied the situation by placing a small piece of thin cardboard behind battery. I have already recommended this Company and batteries to friends.
Customer Review: No problems so far.
So I bought this battery about 2 weeks ago and have had no issues with it. It fits my black razr v3, it works with the charger that came bundled with the phone, and it lasts literally twice as long as the original battery. I will post another review if this thing stops working, but it is great to not have to charge every 2-3 days since I have bluetooth on always.

Customer Review: Hottest cordless phone!!!
This has to be one of the Hottest cordless phone devices on the market to date! When I first started my search online for a cordless phone for my new apartment, the website for Vtech came up showing this phone system, I could not believe the look & style of these phones. (When you go to a relative or friends house, how many of them have a cordless phone that looks like this? Seriously!) I came here and read some reviews as I do with all of the products I want to purchase from Amazon, and I wasn’t the least bit phased by the negative reviews some folks had wrote about this phone. It sounds like folks are looking for a cellular phone rather than a cordless phone system for their home. Most of it sounded like complaining, over minor problems that can easily be solved. Everything about this phone works perfectly, the sound is absolutely crystal clear (I can walk anywhere in my apartment and get clear quality sound without any type of disturbances at all), I charged the battery as suggested in the manual and the battery has not let me down at all & it has been well over 6 months since I set up the product in my home & its still working like new, the answering service is on point, (I have caller ID)- the display reads the names clearly, to store the names and numbers in the phone book is really simple and not complicated (its like storing contacts in a cell phone)I didn’t even need the manual for setting up the phones, most of it is common sense to me. No body I know owns a cordless phone like this. The phone may not work for everybody obviously, but it works great for me! I say buy it, & try it for yourself. Great phone!

The battery does not stop charging. Instead, the battery keeps on heating up while charging continiously.

Customer Review: great idea..but make sure to operate in absolute silence
My experience with these particular phones is that they are way too quiet. My brother-in-law bought the same ones. I decided to go with these because of the cool ring tones, answering maachine, and speaker phone feature. What a disappointment. I use it as an answering machine but rely on a two dollar wired phone from Goodwill if I need to converse.

I have only used this phone for about a week. I haven’t really gotten any real use out of the phone. But what I have to say about it is, is it is a super design! It is sleek. The bluetooth works like a charm–easy to use. The phone came with a 2 year old battery–bummer, but I bought a new one and now it is humming right along!

I bought this used through Amazon but the phone has many problems! Half the time you can’t hear the person calling you and you’re forced to call them back. Also, it is a model that doesn’t have the “Favorite Five” display, so you are forced to call customer service to set up and/or change your favorite five. Also, when using blue tooth earpiece and then you remove the earpiece from the phone, the phone then stops working (you can’t hear anything or call anyone) unless the blue tooth is constantly plugged in. Not the greatest choice of phone!

call quality is kind of bad, my wife just hates this headset. I am thankful for the handsfree aspect but not impressed with call quality. This headset is already out of use after about 4 months and I think it’s headed for that great big headset party in the sky….
Customer Review: BEST headset for the $$$
My husband is a trucker and we tried EVERY headset out there including Blue Tooth (THE WORST!) and have found this to be outstanding in both sending and receiving sound quality. He uses this on his Motorola Razr (need adapter) and he LOVES it! The microphone has extreme noise-canceling abilities and the headphone delivers clear, well balanced audio. Although the unit does not have a volume control, we have no problem at all hearing. Plus, you just use the volume on your cell phone or cordless for that. I use one on the cordless phone at home since we talk more while he is on the road than when he is at home! Great hands-free product that delivers more than you’d expect. Forget cordless units - you won’t get the quality most people want/need. The cord is of no consequence to us since we’d rather have good sound than cordless. This is also one of the most COMFORTABLE AND WELL-FITTING headsets I’ve ever used. And the price is absolutely right - buy extras and give them as gifts - you’ll be popular!

Customer Review: Used to have one, need to replace it!
Motorola used to sell a Flexible Ear Receiver with a standard earphone plug (3.5mm, I think) that I used with a walkie talkie at work. It fit my ear perfectly, and is adjustable to boot (sorry, Brian, but maybe you’re putting it on wrong…). It was about the only thing I could comfortably wear all day (I can’t stand having one of those earbuds jammed in my canal). I found it also worked great with my portable radio, CD player, and laptop (mono only, obviously). Unfortunately, Motorola says they don’t make that configuration any more. The Receiver shown here is their new model, which has a much smaller (2mm?) plug. If you have compatible equipment, however, this should be a comfortable and useful accessory. It’s especially good if you listen more than you talk - I could hear everything with the radio clipped to my belt as I went about my day, and when I picked it up to talk into it, people could tell I was “on the phone.”

I bought this years ago, but I never could get it to fit on my ear. I’m not sure it would fit on anyone’s ear. It is very poorly designed.

Customer Review: Great phone, no battery problems after 6 months
Despite much of the grumbling in these reviews, I have found this phone extremely useful. It has great range, excellent volume & clarity, and a very sleek design. The battery has a good life even though I’ve owned it for six months - I can leave it off the base for 2 days and still have a conversation on it.
