Philips 6.0 Dect Cordless Phone with Answering Machine (Dect2251g/37) The Philips 1.9GHz DECT Cordless Phone combines a unique new phone technology with answering machine and speakerphone. DECT technology has been in use for some time in Europe, and it’s finally reaching us here. Not only does it improve range, clarity, and security for cordless phones, it also allows you to integrate Data services with your phone; in other words, you can send data through a cordless connection. It even makes your cordless conversations more clear while keeping interference to a minimum. The Philips DECT2251 answering machine has 15 minutes recording time, plus call screening and remote access on the base & handset. With a back lit orange LCD display and an ergonomic shape for calling comfort, usability is central to this handset. LCD message counter Expandable up to 4 handsets Speakerphone Paging capability Call Transfer to another handset 30-name phone book 25-number call log Volume control Handset Polyphonic ringtones Backlit LCD screen Color - Silver Customer Review: well built but terrible interface and ergonomics The Philips DETC phone has great sound quality but a terrible display that is difficult to read in sunlight and use as a phone. The controls are not logical and difficult to understand (press the arrow key down to see the last person who called, then up twice to see the previous callers). The biggest disappointment however is the speaker phone option in which the speaker and microphone are so directional you have to keep passing the phone between you if there’s two of you and you’re trying to speak to your family on the other end of the phone. Customer Review: Stop working in a few weeks I have this a gift to a friend in Atlanta. She just called me to tell me that it has stopped working over the 4-th of July weekend. It would have been nice if it had lasted a few months instead. I will have to find out how to get it repaired or replaced this week.

Customer Review: Great, for a while . . . I can’t tell you how much I loved this headset for the first two months. Great volume, excellent noise cancellation, clear as a bell, light weight, good battery life, comfortable to the point you forget you have it on, and a cute little recharger that magnetically grabs and self-aligns the headset on the charging unit. Yep, the noise cancellation even worked (pretty well) on excessive wind noise making convertable driving and talking on bluetooth possible — I was able to use it driving around town with the top down (although putting up all the windows helped the person on the other end understand me better).
