Customer Review: Excellent Basic Cordless Phone and Answering Machine Some reviewers have complained about static and poor range on this phone system and its other variations (3 and 4 handset models). All I can say is that we have been VERY pleased with this unit. We have a 1900+ square foot home and we can walk throughout the entire house (and yard!) without any static, range, or volume problems at all.

GE Designer Series Ultra-Slim Cordless Phone - Red Customer Review: Nice product, but some points to consider… I purchased this phone and two expansion handsets. In the last three weeks, I have not had the problems with interference which other reviewers complain of, but every situation is unique. I was having some problems with other cordless phones because of kitchen appliances and lights that caused interference on the older bands. I find the handsets in both colors very ergonomic and attractive, and the extra features like polyphonic ring tones and remote access to the answering machine from expansion handsets are great.

Philips 6.0 Dect Cordless Phone with Answering Machine (Dect2251g/37) The Philips 1.9GHz DECT Cordless Phone combines a unique new phone technology with answering machine and speakerphone. DECT technology has been in use for some time in Europe, and it’s finally reaching us here. Not only does it improve range, clarity, and security for cordless phones, it also allows you to integrate Data services with your phone; in other words, you can send data through a cordless connection. It even makes your cordless conversations more clear while keeping interference to a minimum. The Philips DECT2251 answering machine has 15 minutes recording time, plus call screening and remote access on the base & handset. With a back lit orange LCD display and an ergonomic shape for calling comfort, usability is central to this handset. LCD message counter Expandable up to 4 handsets Speakerphone Paging capability Call Transfer to another handset 30-name phone book 25-number call log Volume control Handset Polyphonic ringtones Backlit LCD screen Color - Silver Customer Review: well built but terrible interface and ergonomics The Philips DETC phone has great sound quality but a terrible display that is difficult to read in sunlight and use as a phone. The controls are not logical and difficult to understand (press the arrow key down to see the last person who called, then up twice to see the previous callers). The biggest disappointment however is the speaker phone option in which the speaker and microphone are so directional you have to keep passing the phone between you if there’s two of you and you’re trying to speak to your family on the other end of the phone. Customer Review: Stop working in a few weeks I have this a gift to a friend in Atlanta. She just called me to tell me that it has stopped working over the 4-th of July weekend. It would have been nice if it had lasted a few months instead. I will have to find out how to get it repaired or replaced this week.

Remanufactured Uniden CXAI-5198 5.8 GHz Analog Cordless Phone with Corded Base and Answering System (Silver/Black) Customer Review: Not worth the money I bought this telephone because I needed a combination phone system with an answering machine. I had my phone for less than a month when my battery in my cordless wouldn’t hold a charge for very long. Not too long after that, the cord phone base wouldn’t ring!!! I have had 2 Uniden brand phones so far and both of them turned out to be junk….don’t buy!!! Customer Review: If only the speakerphone worked, I’d love it We really wanted a corded / cordless combination ‘phone with an answering machine and this one works fine. My only gripe is that the speakerphone (at least on mine) barely works. You basically have to have your mouth at the bottom of the ‘phone (where the microphone is) for it to work enough for the other party to hear you. Unless you want to scream. The reception on the cordless phone is very clear. You can get fairly far away from the base but of course, multiple walls may make the line scratchy or unusable. All in all, I’m happy with this telephone.

Customer Review: Not a very good Uniden phone I’ve owned Uniden in the past and liked that phone a lot. This one on the other hand is terrible. The battery life is a joke. The reception for the first week was all static if you left the living room where the base was located. I wish I would have returned this phone right away! Big mistake in keeping it. I suppose you get what you pay for and recommend you spend the extra money and get a better model. Oh, and say you’re on the phone and your headset is about to die, you can’t just pick up a different one and use that one. You’ll have to re-call the person you were talking to. It’s doesn’t allow 2 phones to be on at once. And considering the battery life is terrible, this is a feature that is a must. Customer Review: Perfect little low priced cordless phone/answering machine Works surprisingly well for the price, set up is a breeze, manual is complete and easy to understand, and phone is easy to operate with all the many, many features; low learning curve, great sound quality and range. No interference even living in a downtown area with lots of businesses and a great deal of traffic very close. Handset works great and voice quality/sound and pickup are clear and sharp even in other rooms away from the base, and even with the room’s door shut and a tv or computer on within a few feet. Answering machine is a nice quality bonus that has a longer length allowed for messages than my old one and works great, too.

V-Tech VT6895 5.8GHz DSS Four Handset Cordless Phone System with Caller ID, Answering Machine (Titanium/Silver) V-Tech VT6895 5.8GHz DSS Four Handset Cordless Phone System with Caller ID, Answering Machine (Titanium/Silver) Customer Review: The Answering Machine The phone is all fine and stuff: good sound, fits into your hand, and many ringtones. This phone has the WORST ANSWERING MACHINE EVER. Even with the volume as high as it goes you have to put your ear up to the speaker to listen to the BLURRY words. Do not buy this unless you don’t want to use an answering machine.

Uniden DECT 2080-5 DECT6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System, Call Waiting/Caller Id, and Extra 4 Handsets and Chargers Marketing description is not available. Customer Review: Junk After owning a set of Uniden phones for several years (1 lost, 1 thrown in the pool…needed a new set), we purchased a new set of Uniden DECT2080 phones at Costco (set of 5, I think). After less than a year of light use, 3 of the 5 of the phones are not working (specifically…the little menu button in the middle of the phone which allows you to select caller ID, ring volume etc.). Thankfully, I bought the set at Costco and Costco said they would cheerfully return the entire set (love Costco!). I’m not sure what brand we will buy now since we purchased about 5 sets before buying these at Costco. What a disappointment in Uniden…emailed them about my problems with the phones and they didn’t even respond. That’s when I decided the JUNK should go back to Costco. Don’t buy this product….junk, junk, junk! Customer Review: This phone has it all. Back in 2004 I had never heard of Uniden but purchased one on a ‘Manager’s Special’ deal. At that time Panasonic was my phone of choice and I still think my KX-TG1035 is great but my new Uniden DECT 2080-5 is even better (My old Uniden still works but I needed DECT 6.0). The DECT 2080-5 has excellent sound quality, reception, programming and looks. Nice colors! It also has one feature that other brands seem to think is trivial. When a message is received on the answering machine it beeps instead of just flashing a tiny light. I recommend Uniden at this time as they seem to be trying harder than the other brands to satisfy their customers. Their bean counters haven’t attacked the product yet.

GE 26955GE1 900 MHz Analog Cordless Phone with Corded Base The GE 26955GE1 provides the best of both worlds: a corded phone for one room with a powerful 900 MHz cordless handset for roaming the house. Both phones come with backlit LCDs that display caller names and numbers (with caller ID service), as well as convenient page and intercom buttons that let you communicate with others in the household or just hunt down a stray handset. The 10-station memory dialer allows you instant access to your most frequently called numbers, while the corded handset guarantees you’ll stay connected even if the cordless batteries run low. GE provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service. Customer Review: I had looked everywhere for this phone I had this phone for years and it was struck by lightening - couldn’t find another equivalent - looked everywhere, including trying to contact GE. First time I checked Amazon, you didn’t have it. A month or so later you did. It was sent promptly and I am very pleased. Customer Review: Finally found all I wanted in a phone when I bought this…. I was realy looking for some specific features in a phone and was frustrated until I found this beauty. Either they had some but not all the features I wanted or added features I didn’t want or need. I wanted a corded phone because I found that reception with a cordless was so bad in my basement apartment and hated the cordless batteries that always seemed to need to be charged too much. Then again I wanted a cordless for the convienence but I also wanted a speaker phone for those long “on hold” calls. I especially wanted a phone that had a back-lit caller ID display and I did not want an answering machine as I had voicemail through my local phone company. All this seemed like a tall order and of course I didn’t want to spend $100’s of dollars. This phone met all these requirements and more at a great price and the cordless part is static free with a long battery life. This is my only review I’ve ever written but I felt I just needed to. This phone is awesome!!

GE Cordless 5.8 GHz Edge 25951EE3 Phone with 3 Handsets, Call Waiting Caller ID and Digital Answering System 5.8 GHz technology with 3 handsets. Digital answering system with 14-min record time. Caller ID. Handset speakerphone. Melody ring tones. Expands to 4 handsets Customer Review: great idea..but make sure to operate in absolute silence My experience with these particular phones is that they are way too quiet. My brother-in-law bought the same ones. I decided to go with these because of the cool ring tones, answering maachine, and speaker phone feature. What a disappointment. I use it as an answering machine but rely on a two dollar wired phone from Goodwill if I need to converse.

Uniden TRU9585-2 Digital 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Phone/Answering System with One Extra Handset/Cradle Marketing description is not available. Customer Review: Going downhill with the TRU9585 The TRU9585 appears to be a couple steps backward for Uniden.
1) The answering machine audio quality is horrible. The caller sounds like their head’s in a bucket. My last Uniden, the CLX485, had the best audio I’ve ever heard for an answering machine. I’m starting to really regret getting rid of it.

GE 27909FE1 Dect 6.0 Cordless High-Gloss Designer Phone with Digital Answering System and CID (Black) mfr: GE 1.9GHZ TECHNOLOGY; DIGITAL ANSWERING SYSTEM; CALL WAITING CALLER ID; EXPANDABLE TO 4 HANDSETS; 2-DIGIT LCD MESSAGE COUNTER DISPLAY; 3-WAY CONFERENCING; 30-NUMBER CID MEMORY; 50-NUMBER PHONEBOOK MEMORY; RINGER VOLUME CONTROL; SPEAKERPHONE; FLASH, MUTE & REDIAL BUTTONS; CLOCK DISPLAY WITH ALARM; HEARING-AID COMPATIBLE (HAC); WALL-MOUNTABLE Customer Review: GE wall phone I purchased this phone because of its profile. I wanted a phone that would go flat against the wall. Most other phones seem to be suited for the counter not the wall. With my old one, I inadvertently knocked it off the wall a number of times. This phone was easy to set up; it even comes with voice instructions. The luminescent readout was large and easy to see. I was surprised that it also keeps the date as well the time on the screen. I have not used the answering machine so I can’t comment on it. I consider this phone a great value for the price.

The less-trafficked 5.8 GHz frequency takes communication to the next level, with reduced interference from other devices. With sleek new designs and such advanced features as handset speakerphones, melody ring tones, downloadable wallpapers for color displays, recordable ring tones, picture caller id and VIP rings, 5.8 digital phones offer the best technology, the coolest styles and the most desired features. Customer Review: Love that button I recently purchased this set of phones for a second time, I’ve had them for about a year an a half when suddenly the LCD caller ID display ceased to work on two out of three phones, other reviews said that replacement batteries were not available but I don’t even know if that would have helped the issue. Regardless, there is a “do not disturb” button on the answering machine that deactivates all three ringers with one push of a button, as someone who works nites and doesnt like to be woken up at 8am by solicitors it is a Godsend, enough so that I purchased the whole system again! Hoping to squeak two years out of these…

AT&T TL72308 - Cordless phone w/ call waiting caller ID & answering system - 5.8 GHz + 2 additional handset(s) PRODUCT FEATURES:5.8 GHz DSS frequency hopping technologyFully integrated digital answering systemExpandable systemThree-handset systemSpeakerphone in handset Customer Review: Good Quality Phones at a Good Price With no reviews to be found on this new phone system out from AT&T I was hesitant to purchase. I must say I am very pleased at the quality of these units so far and the answering machine that accompanies it. The units are well lit with the pleasant blue backlit numbers. The speaker phones on these units are quite excellent with plenty of volume. The answering machine is very intuitive and easy to use with a nice large number of messages waiting display. While this is a very nice set of phones, there are some desirable features that are missing. There is no battery backup for this unit so if you lose power you will have to reset the time. There is no speed dial, however, you can store names from the CID to a directory and dial them from there. Also, there is no visual battery level indicator so you only get notified with tones when the battery is low. My previous phones had that so I knew when to put them back on the base. Some individuals have complained they don’t hear my voice very well when I have a headset plugged in. That may be due to the quality of my headset. I hear them loud and clear so that part is fine. In all I would rate this phone a very good buy as long as they hold up. So far I’ve had them a little over a week and I’m completely satisfied with them.

AT&T SL82558 DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System - 1 Base, 4 chargers, 5 Handsets The AT&T SL82558 DECT 6.0 Phone System features digital answering, Caller ID, extended range with proprietary antenna technology, DECT 6.0 digital technology, five handsets (expandable up to 12 handsets) and handset speakerphone. Customer Review: my handset stoped working My rating is not so good , and depending upon the response we get from the at&t. We installed this product easily and up for a month all was well. One of the handsets stoped working, because the battery was over. I just emailed to at&t to ask how we can get another battery, because I can’t find it in several websites. For the other parts, we liked this set. Customer Review: Excellent Choice First and foremost, this line of AT&T DECT 6.0 cordless phones works extremely well, no background noise even with a home wireless system, great range, and very good sound quality both with the handset to your ear and on speaker phone. It does all that one should expect from a cordless phone system. Entering names and numbers into your directory is very intuitive, as is using the caller ID and changing the ringer tone and volume. You hardly need the manual. We use the “phone company” voice mail, so I haven’t evaluated the “usability” of the answering machine, but it “talks you through” the setup steps, setting the clock, etc., and seems very user friendly to operate. Another nice feature is that directory and CID entries are maintained in the base station, so if, for example, you enter a name/number on handset #1, it is immediately available on all other handsets on your system.
